Nightmare Moon Returns: AnalysisWell first let me give you readers a disclaimer, I do believe nightmare moon will strike again.
My reasoning is, when Twilight appears she asks why both Luna and Princess Celestia disappeared. Most people think it is a flashback to what happened in the first place when Luna became spiteful. I beg to differ and I will give you evidence why.
*Back to when the Two Princesses disappeared, Luna had probably teleported her sister and herself to some other area to defeat the royals one by one. If it was a flashback why would Luna be with Twilight when her sister is her mentor? There is no real reason but it may have been a meeting between the three when Luna decided to make her rise once more. Teleporting Celestia and herself elsewhere and then appearing before Twilight Sparkle.
*As for "basking in her light" people say Luna has made a reference to her sister, but Twilight is a time where the sun is still twinkling in the sky, so yes, it is both Celestia and Twil
